Rome Fiore is the owner and operator of Narrow Path Automotive and a lifelong Birmingham, Alabama native. Born and raised in Birmingham, Rome’s interest in the automotive business started long before Narrow Path Automotive had a name.
While in college, Rome began buying and flipping cars on the side. What started as a way to make some extra money quickly developed into a genuine passion. He enjoyed finding vehicles, figuring out what made each one unique, modifying and improving them, and ultimately finding the next person who would enjoy them. Cars became something he genuinely loved learning about, not simply something to buy and sell.
After graduating from college, Rome wasn’t entirely sure what career path he wanted to pursue. Around that time, he met someone who already held a dealer license and was given an opportunity to become involved in the business. What began as an opportunity to continue doing something he enjoyed gradually became a career. Over the next several years, Rome took on more responsibility for the dealership before eventually purchasing the business and becoming its owner.
In 2023, the dealership moved to its current location and Rome rebranded Joy Car Sales as Narrow Path Automotive, marking a new chapter for the business and a clearer vision for what he wanted the dealership to become.
Over the years, Rome also discovered exactly what kind of vehicles he enjoys most: Toyotas. That passion has increasingly shaped the inventory at Narrow Path Automotive, with a particular focus on 4Runners, Tacomas, Tundras, Sequoias, Land Cruisers, and RAV4s. After years of buying, selling, driving, inspecting, repairing, and modifying Toyotas, Rome has developed an appreciation for their reliability, longevity, and the incredibly loyal community surrounding them.
But after years in the car business, the relationships have become every bit as important to Rome as the vehicles themselves. Being a small independent dealer allows him to know many of his customers personally, remember the vehicles they purchased, help them again years later, and often sell multiple vehicles to the same individuals and families. He wants customers to feel like they have a car guy they can call, not just a dealership they once bought from.
Rome comes from a family of entrepreneurs and understands the value of building something through hard work and reputation. His background as a competitive runner also taught him early in life that worthwhile things require consistency, patience, discipline, and a willingness to keep going when things aren’t easy - qualities that have carried directly into building Narrow Path Automotive.
Most importantly, Rome’s Christian faith is central to both his life and the way he wants to operate his business. The name Narrow Path Automotive is inspired by Matthew 7:14 and serves as a reminder of the standard he wants the company to follow. For Rome, integrity isn’t about claiming to be perfect. It’s about being accountable, treating people fairly, owning mistakes when they happen, and trying to do what is right even when the easier option is available.
Today, Rome remains personally involved in nearly every part of Narrow Path Automotive - from searching for and purchasing inventory to evaluating vehicles, coordinating repairs, photographing and marketing inventory, talking with customers, and handing over the keys.
What started with a college student flipping cars has grown into a career, a business, and something Rome genuinely loves doing. Yet the goal has remained remarkably simple:
Build the kind of dealership he would confidently send his own family and closest friends to and never let Narrow Path Automotive become too big to remember why it started.
